Today was so beautiful, sixty-five degrees. One of the first really beautiful days, most of this week has been increasingly beautiful. I happily ran a library errand today if only to spend an extra twenty minutes in the sunshine driving around the city. Our volcano has yet to explode and shower us in Anchorage in Ash. So no cool ash photos! Here's what I do have:

I took pictures every day, not particularly exciting pictures, but photos nonetheless. It's been a very tough, busy week, and next week will be even more so. We went from -28 for the last three weeks to above freezing. (I understand the rest of the country has our cold streak now, you have my sympathy.) It got up to 44 the last few days. I have always wanted to work in a library with a library cat. Sadly this is one of those things you have to have always had, you can't add now, due to allergies and the like. Yes I get that allergies are a big deal for a lot of people and I'm not trying to negate it, but it just seems like so much fun.

On Tuesday, the voters approved the library's bond. This means we have money to repair our leaky roof, and money to leverage the grants and donations we could only have with matching funds. In the library world, it is common to have a mascot puppet that you use in all your storytimes. I've been using this monkey. When I was at my previous library I called him Plaza Pete for obvious reasons. Now of course that won't work, or at least it makes much less sense. But clearly the monkey needs a name.
